Hayley Jones tells the story of her wedding day at romantic Rowton Castle

The bride and groom

I am an NVQ Assessor and David is an engineer. We live in Featherstone, near Wolverhampton.

Location for wedding and reception

We got married at Rowton Castle in Shrewsbury and used the venue exclusively for the whole day which was a dream come true. We chose the venue because it looked like the perfect fairytale place to make our dreams come true.

Parents

My parents are Sharon and Gary Dobell and Davids are Mary and Michael Jones.

Best man

Trevor Fyfe.

Bridesmaids

Hayley Carter, Laura Baker, Melissa Kidson, Ellie Dobell and Leah Rawson.

Where and how did you meet?

We met through friends and family, I am best friends with Davids sister-in-law. We had our first date on the August bank holiday in 2005, so we have been together six years this year. We are one big happy family now.

The flowers

The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and were from a Shrewsbury florist called LuLu Flowers. I wanted them to be really romantic and had David Austin roses and peonies to make them special.

Special touches

I did my own make-up and went for a trial at Clinique. I purchased what the lady used on me, but this saved me hundreds on the day as everyone used it! I was really pleased with the look.

The day

The day was perfect from start to finish! It truly was a dream and it went so fast. The service was lovely and it was fabulous to see all our friends and family had made an effort. The food was beautiful, we had pate to start, followed by the most beautiful beef dinner and a strawberry roulade to finish. The hog roast in the evening was spectacular! We used Rowtons resident DJ Will Tudor who catered to our every need and we had quite a few requests.

The honeymoon

The honeymoon was fabulous and we didnt want to come back home. We spent two weeks at the Capo Bay Hotel in Protaras, Cyprus. We also came back with a little more than we went with, a new addition to our new little family is due in March.

Precious memories

There are so many to choose from. Once we had had our first dance as husband and wife, we decided to have a little walk around the grounds. It was lovely to walk hand in hand, knowing that we were married and just taking in the day.
