The Shropshire Wedding of Mark and Marcia MacDonell

The bride and groom
Mark is managing director of Gefran UK in Telford and Marcia teaches psychology. They live at Ironbridge.

Best man
Rob Hall.

Bridesmaid Alex Ayers; lady in waiting Zoe Hall; page boys James Cloke and Patrick MacDonell.

Where they met
In the town Park at Telford. Our two little boys James and Patrick started to play together, we chatted, took the kiddies to Alton Towers for the day and the rest is history...

Location for wedding and reception
St Andrews, Shifnal followed by a reception at Weston Park.

The gown
An ivory silk Audrey Hepburn-style dress elegance from She by Angie Mac in Ironbridge.

Bridesmaids dresses
In pale blue satin silk mix with a basque-style bodice.

The day
Our photographer joined us at Weston Park in the morning to photograph the bridal party preparing for the wedding.

The bridal party were having their makeup done by Chloe, a professional make-up artist, and the men were donning their suits in a different quarter of Weston Park to avoid seeing the bride when our page boys James and Patrick managed to stumble upon the bride and proceeded to tell us that mummy looked like a princess.

The church service contained beautiful hymns and meaningful readings and the most heavenly choir which could have melted the toughest hearts.

A 1910 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow collected us for the journey to Weston Park where we were greeted by the most charming butler (Graeme Currie) with canaps and champagne and a delicious meal. In the evening there was an impressive fireworks display across the stunning surroundings of Weston Park and fabulous music played by the Rat Pack Band.

The honeymoon
Monte Carlo.

Precious memories
Mark: Seeing my bride in her dress for the first time. I had to hold back the tears.

Marcia: On the way to the church with my father I had the most wonderful feeling, a mixture of excitement and trepidation. The first dance, a waltz, to Come Away with Me by Norah Jones and the fireworks display were wonderful.
