Shropshire NGS chairman Chris Neil and her husband Bill who work tirelessly to raise money for charity, open their garden this month

Opening dates
June 8: 10am-1pm and August 21: 2pm-5pm.

How the garden was created
The Neils started work on their garden eight years ago by rabbit fencing and creating the vegetable plot. Herbaceous borders was developed and new trees planted, some of which are already 20-feet tall. An old dew pond was turned into water feature.

* New greenhouse for propagating and growing tomatoes etc.

Owners favourites
Flowers: Dictamnus, roses, hellebores, clemetii, viratrum.
Shrubs and trees: Cornus controversa, Acer conspicuum Phoenix, prostanthera, pleached crab apples.

Gardening tip from the owners
After a bad winter do not dig anything up until the end May, as it mayre-sprout.

NGS opening
The garden has opened under the scheme for the past six years.

June 8 is a plant sale and open garden. August 23 will show how to keep a garden interesting late in the year.
